HARRY BARSK

Senior Business Partner - Founder

Harry grew up in by the artic circle on the border between Sweden and Finland.  His activities as a hobby musician led to his first employment at Holmberg Cases in 1986. He became a partner in establishing their business in Finland a few years later as he had the language skills and performed good sales for that market. In 1993 Penn Fabrication (now Penn-Elcom), one of the suppliers offered him a sales position in New Jersey USA. Harry left the employment and partnership at Holmberg Cases and sold his part of the business and moved his family to Pompton Plains in New Jersey. He started as a Sales Representative and was later promoted to Depot Manager for the operations in California. His interest in developing the business further with new customers led into product development as well as sales. Penn Fabrications Manufacturing was UK based and Harry ended up moving to East Sussex to head up new product development and product launches at the site near Hastings.

He was driving product development with a good team and some of the products still stand for a substantial part of the company’s sales. Harry was also heavily involved in developing business processes, implementation of digital communication, procedures to control and manage the overall interactions between functions including, procurement, inventory control, sales, marketing and finance. In 2001 he was invited to join the board of directors which lead to a an official title that of Purchasing Director.

In 2004 Harry enrolled at the Newcastle University Business School and gained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration 2007. The studies and interaction with other executives gave him a boost to look for other opportunities and he changed his career path and in May 2006. He joined the International team at Nigel Wright in Newcastle tasked with building up a client base for business opportunities in recruitment assignments throughout Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

In January 2008 Harry moved to Copenhagen to start up a Nordic presence for Nigel Wright with his colleague Lars Herrem. Both brought their families along, Nigel had tasked them with bringing in business but also to support the recruitment and development of the new Nordic business. Unfortunately, Copenhagen did not work out for Harry and his family and he left the business at the end of end of September 2008.

Nigel so kindly cancelled the competitor clause and Harry was encouraged by several clients to set up his own business which he did in January 2009.

Harry is easy to communicate with, he speaks Swedish, Finnish and English fluently. He is still passionate about improving and making things better and happy to help, whether it is with a recruitment challenge or to improve business processes in general. He is still actively playing music, keeping fit and takes on serious DIY projects.
